Cross River first lady stuns onlookers, joins in farm harvest

The policy of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration to have more Nigerians take to farming got a major boost at the weekend when Cross River State First Lady, Dr Linda Ayade physically took part in harvesting yams at the family farm in Obudu Local Government Area.

Mrs. Ayade, a British certified medical doctor was in Obudu for the New yam Festival. Known for her down to earth manners, the wife of the Governor stunned her aides when she joined farm workers to harvest the yams.

Though her actions left many of her aids surprised her family members were however not surprised saying such was typical of her any time she was home.

The 2017 Obudu new yam festival witnessed a beehive of events as thousands of people turned out to attend events that were lined up to commemorate the annual festival observed every first Saturday of September every year.
