2019: Gov. Ayade Inaugurates Campaign Organization

Cross River State Governor, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade has on Wednesday, 19th December, 2018, inaugurated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Organization, ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Speaking at the event which held at the main bowl of the Cultural Centre Complex, Calabar, Governor Ayade urged PDP supporters to remain faithful to the cause of the Party, by protecting every vote at their respective polling units in order to clinch landslide victory in 2019.
“We are therefore going for an election that we know the result. But we need to be cautious, calculative, and specific, and ensure that we fall within the ambit of law, logic and reason to ensure that we deliver our polling booths; because indeed, it is certain,” Governor Ayade enthused.
“Remember that we are going to have a diverse avalanche of opportunities, but such opportunities would be not just a reflection of your personal capacity, but also the political capacity and value that you have brought in the cause of the elections. There are certain essential areas and elements that will be dependent on the polling booth results and turnout; so protect your polling unit like your entire life depends on it,” the Governor continued.
Governor Ayade maintained that his re-election should be gauged by the under of his government and lofty strides his administration has been able to achieve, highlighting the lifting of embargo on employment, creating employment for over 6,000 people through the instrumentality of appointments alone, prompt payment of salaries and pension, promotion of 33 permanent secretaries, regularization of casual staff at the State Water Board, increased number of lawyers in the Ministry of Justice, employment of 1, 000 primary school teachers, employment 1000 primary healthcare workers, and creating more opportunities for people to be given jobs.
The Governor noted that in spite of difficult economic situation; his administration has placed and sustained people above every other consideration, saying: “No cup that is half-empty can overflow. And because I am a full cup, that is why I have the capacity to overflow and think more about people; which is the core essence of governance.”
The eloquent Governor, who charged the Campaign Team to work assiduously for the success of the Party on all fronts in the 2019 elections, also admonished Cross Riverians to shun anyone who is attempting to distort the equation (rotational 2-term of 8 years for each Senatorial District) that has given peace to Cross River State.
Earlier in his remarks, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Mr. Efiok Cobham stated that the objective of his team of over 1, 600 members is to guarantee convincing victories for all candidates of the PDP in the 2019 general elections.
“The focus of this campaign is to win and win all. We shall have campaign organizations up to the polling unit level. We want to win and win fairly, observing all the decency, conventions and even the law that governs elections, so that those who think our previous victories were flukes, will see us win convincingly,” Mr. Cobham said.
Also speaking, the State Party Chairman and member of the campaign team, Ntufam Edim Inok, lauded the Governor and DG for the wisdom in the unprecedented inclusion of Party Executives into the team, pointing out that such a gesture has brought a sense of recognition and a call to duty.
Ntufam Inok promise to work relentlessly for the commonwealth of the PDP family, which is winning elections in all fronts come 2019.
Thereafter, a delegation led by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ivara Ejemot Esu, proceeded for the commissioning of the Campaign Office at Marian, beside First Bank, Calabar.
